Counselling is an opportunity for you to talk to someone privately about anything that is happening in your life that you wish to change. Counsellors are highly trained in helping you explore the roots of your problems in a non-judgemental or critical way and helping you to find ways to do or experience those things differently.
Most counsellors have been on their own journey of change and have become passionate about helping others obtain the same freedom. During counselling you may change your thoughts, feelings, behaviour’s, quality of your relationships or anything else that you choose. You may come to accept aspects of yourself or your circumstances that you have not liked much. There are many benefits to undertaking counselling and most clients agree that it provides them with greater clarity, joy, direction, health and happiness in their lives. Please see testimonials for more benefits.
Emma offers private consultations to individuals who are looking to make changes in their lives. She works with the upmost integrity, showing compassion and sensitivity to the adults and teenagers she works with and to the challenges they face as they transform their lives to reach their fullest potential.
Her approach is guided by her own personal experiences and professional training in person centred psychotherapy amongst other valuable modalities.
Emma’s earlier career in the public sector required her to develop exceptional communication skills which resulted in Emma delivering one to one coaching, mentoring and professional development in her organisation. As a front line employee of the emergency services Emma understands the complexities and stigma attached to trauma and the challenges of working in an emotionally demanding job.
Emma has worked extensively with adolescents and looked after children especially those involved in the criminal justice system and is regarded as a child protection specialist.
Since setting up in professional practice Emma spends her time providing counselling and coaching to private clients, volunteering for Safeline, a charity which supports survivors of sexual abuse and mentoring young people in schools with a view helping them realise their own personal power and aspirations.
She holds an enhanced DBS certificate.
